Gagra Located in the Abkhazia region, on the Black Sea coast, at Georgia’s northwestern border, in the upper part of the country’s map, this unique geographical location essentially represents Gagra as the “beginning of Georgia,” granting it both symbolic and physical significance. Gagra has a subtropical climate, stunning seaside landscapes, and historical heritage, making this place particularly attractive.
1992-1993 წლებშიAfter the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the restoration of independence, Georgia unfortunately endured a severe conflict in the Abkhazia region, linked to ethnic tensions and territorial disputes. The armed confrontation, which resulted in the loss of many lives and the displacement of thousands of families, temporarily left Abkhazia outside of Georgia's control. Nevertheless, the international community and the majority of countries still recognize Abkhazia as a sovereign part of Georgia.
Gagra Abkhazia and its other regions are integral parts of Georgia's culture, history, and heritage, and their return symbolizes the restoration of the country's territorial integrity for us. Gagra, as the "beginning" of Georgia's border, holds hope that one day our country will restore its control over these lands, where peace and harmony will prevail.
